ALMBC Thanks Stu Watters
It is with respect (and regret) that the ALMBC announces the resignation of the Executive GM Stuart Watters, following his appointment as General Manager for Creative, Programming and Production at Queensland Music Festival. Watters has executed a remarkable run of achievements in his role as Exec. General Manager. He leaves the organisation in a healthy position with over 600 members representing every size and sector in the industry.
Co-founding board member and Treasurer Brian ‘Smash’ Chladil said; “Stuart embraced his role as EGM from day one, representing the ALMBC to such a very high standard. Whilst we will miss him, we wish him well. He delivered the Board’s vision but in his own way, always with an eye on the big picture. A natural with policy, advocacy and detail, we can’t thank him enough for his dedication and for creating so many networks and opportunities for the organisation.”
Replacing Watters as interim EGM is the current Members and Stakeholders Manager, Ant McKenna. A veteran of industry development, McKenna is Director of Programming – Industry Development at QMUSIC, runs the AMPED Music industry development program on the Sunshine Coast and co-owns Free Fall music management company.
McKenna said “I’m chuffed to be appointed to cover Stu’s role, although they are huge shoes to fill. The work that has been achieved is incredible, and Stu’s work has been instrumental to getting the organisation to where it is today. I’m looking forward to building great benefits and outcomes for our members and delivering on great business development opportunities for our members as well as working with the committee to liaise with governments of all levels and the insurance industry and others to provide certainty and security for our members”.
