Why Are Ticket Prices So High?
Thats the question we are all asking – however it turns out it depends who is selling the tickets.
The Guardian have revealed that concert and love music tickets sold through independent companies are more than two times cheaper than those sold through multi-national companies.
The data has been been provided by ALMBC General Member and globally renowned promoter Paul Sloan (Nick Cave, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Bon Iver and Amyl & the Sniffers).
The ALMBC places great value in transparency in ticket pricing and our members have often questioned items such as ‘inside charges’ applied by some ticketing companies.
We of course have independent ticket sellers as members as well as on our Board, however it is clear that this is a major issue for the whole industry – and one we will keep advocating for.
