Ausify is a national movement to amplify Australian music. In 2025, we Ausified our algorithms. In 2026, we made our love public. And we’re not stopping there. Because the more love we show, the further Aussie music goes.
What Ausify is
Ausify launched in November 2025 as a behaviour change initiative created and funded by Music Australia, in response to findings from its Listening In research series. The aim is to get a generation of Australians engaging with more Australian music across all genres, going to more local gigs, and talking openly about why actively supporting local music matters. It is built as a long-term movement, with the media spend concentrated in November to ride the energy of Ausmusic Month.
Music Australia is clear about what Ausify is not. It is not a platform to promote individual artists, it is not a simple celebration of Australian music, and it is not asking anyone to listen exclusively to Australian music. The goal is more Australian music in the mix, and Music Australia is upfront that shifting listening habits takes time.
This year’s idea: Public Displays of #Ausify
Last year’s campaign was about the algorithm. This year is about the heart. The 2026 creative asks Australians to take their love for local music public through Public Displays of #Ausify, or PDAs, under the tagline “hard launch your love for local music”. A PDA can be almost anything: sharing a song, posting a lyric, wearing an artist’s merch, thanking a music venue that looked after you, recommending a local act, requesting an Aussie track at the pub, sharing a gig photo, or celebrating an album anniversary.
Ausify’s socials will run “30 Days, 30 Ways to PDA” throughout November, with a daily prompt each day. From 2 November the Ausify website will also have daily PDA frames matching those prompts. Day 14, for example, asks people to show some PDA for a music venue that has a special place in their heart, and day 20 is “go to a local gig, send proof”, so there is plenty in there for venues, promoters and festivals to work with.
The campaign is backed by a national out-of-home and poster campaign pushing people to ausify.com.au, partnerships with major media, streaming platforms and Australian businesses, and a crew of creators from outside music helping to spread the word. The website also hosts the Ausify music discovery player, curated by Level Two Music and powered by DISCO, with a “choose a vibe” option and a “surprise me” option, plus a moderated “love line” where fans can text messages to their favourite artists.
For artists: get your music on the player
If you or the artists you work with want to be discoverable on the Ausify player, music needs to be uploaded through DISCO. Music Australia is asking for as much new music as possible by 30 October, though the player will keep being refreshed through November. Uploading is free, stream-only and non-commercial, with 30-second previews, and the licence runs to 31 December 2026. Any questions about uploading go to team@leveltwo.com.au with AUSIFY in the subject line.
