ALMBC’S Stephen Wade collects special NLMAs honour
Held online this evening, the NLMAs have become an annual institution recognising the best of brightest of the Australian music community.
Among the gongs presented were a number of ‘Special Achievement Awards’.
These had been voted on by the Board of the National Live Music Awards, to recognise individuals, organisations and initiatives that went above and beyond during the first six months of the Covid-19 pandemic, helping buoy the live music sector.
Stephen was presented with this special honour to recognise his role in creating the ALMBC through a trying time for the industry.
Speaking about the acknowledgement he said: “I love this industry, it’s all I’ve ever known, and seeing it in its worst, and the people who make their living from it at their worst, the thought that this organisation gave us a little bit of hope and a place to belong, has been one of the highlights of my year.”
Other recipients of the award include Support Act CEO Clive Miller and Emily Ulman, creator of the enormously successful Isol-Aid online festival.
