ALMBC Board Member Wamba Wamba (or Wemba Wemba) woman of the Gourrmyanjuk clan, Larissa Ryan and EGM Ant McKenna head to Cairns late October to support the professional development opportunity for and with First Nations artists and workers, led by Qld Music Festival and QMusic.
The three day project begins with a Calling To Country from local Traditional Owners – a cultural activity that has been occurring for countless generations.
Friday sees the second iteration of the FUTURES SUMMIT – a one-day industry event spotlighting First Nations leadership and innovation in music.
This year’s keynote speaker is the electrifying MISS KANINNA, setting the tone for a day of bold conversations and practical action.
Featuring panels with artists from 3% and more to be announced, the program unpacks regional touring, artist development, and culturally safe frameworks for collaboration.
Friday night celebrates the next wave of First Nations voices through Blak Rising. Featuring MISS KANINNA, R3B, JADA WEAZEL, DEAN BRADY, TJAKA and YIRGJHILYA.
Then Saturday BUDJERAH, KAIIT, SOUTH SUMMIT, DENNI, 3%, DUBBZONE, KAWEYOVA, and NORMEY JAY all hit the stage for Dream Aloud.
