Can Australian Music Survive in the Age of Spotify?
Italy’s Assomusica hosted a policy forum on 14 May at the Spadolini Hall of Italy’s Ministry of Culture in Rome, titled “Al di là dei generi” (Beyond Genres), focused on government policies and strategies for supporting contemporary musical creativity.
The event brought together live music industry leaders and policymakers at ministerial level, reflecting the organisation’s sustained push for structural policy support for the Italian live sector.
The forum builds on Assomusica’s work earlier this year, including the “Spazi che Suonano: Atlante dei live club in Italia” national mapping project, co-promoted with ARCI and developed in partnership with KeepOn LIVE, which is gathering structured data on live music venues across Italy to provide the evidence base for future policy interventions.
