Kylie Thompson (FCPA) Joins the ALMBC Board
Joining the ALMBC Board at the recent Annual General Meeting is Kylie Thompson (FCPA).
Thompson is the principal of a taxation preparation & financial advisory firm that specialises in the music industry. With over 30 years’ experience within this sector, Kylie is a passionate advocate for artists, championing their ability to create a sustainable music career financially whilst protecting their personal wellbeing and mental health.
Thompson devotes a significant portion of her personal time and resources to the industry as demonstrated by her positions as Treasurer of West Australian Music (WAM) & WA Strings Attached Guitar Festival, You will regularly find her on Industry Panels & sponsoring events such as Champagne Agency’s Gig School, Propel Youth Arts, WOMPP, WAM Song of the Year & WAM Awards, Bigsound. She is particularly proud of working for the AIR Women in Music Mentorship Program where she not only delivered a Financial Literacy Workshop but is also an Assessor & Mentor.
She has devoted a significant proportion of her time to ensuring she has maximised the available grants and allowances that have been made available for musicians to alleviate the burden of financial hardship where she can, and pave the way for them to do what they do best. Create art.
