Support Act has secured funding to undertake a landmark First Nations-led review into the cultural safety and representation of First Nations workers in the music industry.
A First Nations Steering Committee has been announced, and a tender is open till 20 April to find a research partner.
The Review is called ‘Raising Our Voices’ and it aims to understand the systemic inequities and cultural harms facing First Nations music workers.
It is a direct response to recommendations in the 2022 report ‘Raising Their Voices’.
Support Act is now seeking tenders from suitably qualified consultancies, with preference given to First Nations–owned or led organisations or those able to demonstrate genuine partnerships with First Nations researchers and communities and strong experience in culturally safe, trauma-informed research methodologies.
