UK May Legislate Arena Ticket levy
Yesterday the UK Government issued a response to the findings of the UK Parliamentary Inquiry into Live Music, backing an Arena Ticket Levy.
Further, the UK Government has announced that if the industry is unable to reach an agreement, they will enact legislative change to enforce an Arena Ticket Levy.
The ALMBC included the introduction of an Arena Ticket Levy as our key point in our submission to the Australian government’s Parliamentary Inquiry into live music in April 2024.
The ALMBC notes the recent outcomes in the UK and we hope that the Australian federal government Inquiry reaches a similar conclusion.
However, as always, we are focussed on industry to industry outcomes and are focussed on building a positive collaboration between all facets of the live music industry here in Australia to support grass roots live music venues.
