Better Approvals for Vic Festivals & Events?
The Victorian Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR), Policy and Regulation Reform team is leading delivery of the Better Approvals for Business Program (BAB) – Events and Festivals Approvals Review.
DJSIR is currently undertaking consultation with stakeholders and invited the ALMBC to discuss the Review process.
By way of background, the Review is one of a series of BAB regulatory reform reviews focussed on improving planning and other business approvals processes to support economic recovery.
BAB reviews are undertaken from the perspective of business and industry to identify tangible, practical reforms that can be implemented in the short to medium term. Reviews are delivered through a short sharp, rapid review process, including targeted engagement and co-design workshops, typically with businesses and industry, regulators, Local and State Government to ensure reforms target priority issues. More information can be found on the Department website.
The ALMBC coordinated a number of key stakeholders in the live event and festival market to meet with the Department and is in the process of collating feedback from the sector. If you would like to provide input to ALMBC to feed into the targeted review process, please don’t hesitate to get in contact with Stu Watters on firstname.lastname@example.org and we will share your feedback with the Department.
