AFEM puts together advice for promoters working across electronic genres
The US based Association For Electronic Music (AFEM) has released a good practice guide for promoters working across electronic genres, starting with grassroots music venues and touring circuits.
The guide was produced with input from CAA, WME, Primary Talent and Resident Advisor, among others. It responds to the growing popularity and touring success of DJ music, and acknowledges that the genre’s commercial appeal brings new challenges for the people running shows.
AFEM formalised the advice amid growing market consolidation and shrinking funding. Australian operators who book DJs and electronic acts may find it a handy reference point as the guide takes shape.
