Can Australian Music Survive in the Age of Spotify?
Major venues, festival bookers, ticketing companies, insurance brokers, underwriters and more joined the ALMBC to support the launch of a new report from the Insurance Council of Australia.
The report calls for the federal and state government to undertake the first major reform of insurance law in 25 years, by:
- reducing the number of late claims to allow venues more ability to respond appropriately to incidents soon after they occur and to ensure all evidence is maintained
- reducing the impact on venues and festivals where warnings are clear and risks are clear to punters
- capping legal fees and banning claim farming to reduce the terrible impact of ‘no win no fee’ law firms
