Sounds Australia will run Australia House at Amsterdam Dance Event for a third year, and this time it grows from two days to three.
The industry hub takes over Box Sociaal in Amsterdam’s Jordaan district from Wednesday 21 to Friday 23 October, open 12.30pm to 9.30pm each day. Mornings are curated networking events, then the room opens for meetings through the afternoon and evening. Meeting spaces can be booked in advance.
It is supported by the Australian Embassy in the Netherlands and the ASEAN-Australia Centre. ADE itself turns 30 this year, running 21 to 25 October with more than 1,000 events across over 200 locations.
Sounds Australia’s Esti Zilber said the hub is about “creating direct pathways between Australia’s leading artists and businesses and international partners”.
Music Australia’s Bass Line report put Australian music exports at $975 million in 2023-24, and electronic music is a growing share of that. In fact Australia is quickly becoming an international focus for new and exciting electronic music. If you are planning to be in Amsterdam, book the room time early. The value of these hubs is almost entirely in who you sit down with, and the good slots go first.
Congrats to Amelia Jenner from WAT Artists and Phillip Burriel from OLX Entertainment, who were funded by Music Australia to attend ADE, through the last round of the Music Australia International Conference Contribution program.
