Round 3 of the Live Music Festivals Fund was announced on Friday 7 August, putting more than $640,000 across 16 Victorian festivals.
The fund is delivered by Music Victoria on behalf of the Victorian Government, through the Community Support Fund and Creative Victoria, with grants of up to $50,000 per festival. Eligible events run between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2027.
The list covers the long running and the brand new. ALMBC members Port Fairy Folk Festival and Queenscliff Music Festival sit alongside Abbotsford’s LuliePalooza, Footscray electronic festival The DOT and Mt Martha’s First Peoples’ festival Our Survival Day. Regional communities hit by the 2026 bushfires are in there too, including Castlemaine’s Town Folk Festival and Tallarook’s Interstellar Groove Festival.
Music Victoria CEO Fiona Duncan said festivals “create opportunities for artists and music professionals, bring communities together through shared live music experiences, and play an important role in the cultural and economic life of towns and cities across the state”.
Minister for Creative Industries Vicki Ward said the fund is “one of the reasons Victoria is Australia’s live music capital”.
Also flagged in the announcement: 10,000 Gigs, the Victorian Gig Fund, opens soon with grants for live music venues to stage local artists. Worth a diary note if you are running a room in Victoria.
